Streetlevel: Tillary Associated "Closing Soon"

The demise of the Associated on Tillary Street that we reported back in February is finally upon us. Just about everything in the store has been marked down 50% and these signs about the imminent closing are posted in every aisle. So what's a Concord Village resident to do?

I don't know what they're going to do, but I'm going down there to buy some 1/2 price food.

Rumor has it that the owners of the supermarket had to agree to a gut-reno of this hellhole in order to get a new lease. Even the item on the Concord Village website says the closure is temporary. Thank god--the store is currently nasty.

that space is too small to make a profitable high quality supermarket, unless they target margin and go "gourmet" and fleece the residents. come to think of it, they shouldve done that ages ago! LOL
