Streetlevel: Daycare and Preschool for 85 Adams

Dumbo may not have its middle school yet, but at least it's getting a new option for the under-6 set. The ground-floor retail space at 85 Adams (aka The Beacon) has been leased by Imagine Early Learning Centers, a chain of 11 (soon to be 12!) facilities catering to kids from two months to five years old. Now, if they could just get a parole facility located next door! GMAP

I was just thinking of how much my neighborhood really NEEDS one of these sort of Day Care Centers!! I see so many children but there seems like a lack of good, quality, places to take tots around BedStuy! I'm glad to see this kinda thing in DUMBO - maybe we can get one in the hood soon!!

There's a lot of in-home places, BorderBaby. More than you'd think that are licensed and nice. But yeah, it would be great if more retail spaces ended up providing this service. Is there any tax break given for landlords for renting for daycares?

A good day care center is hard to find. I've been looking for a a good place to send my daughter. I was talking with my mother-in-law who lives in Staten Island and she mentioned there are several great day care centers by her.

Any thoughts or recommendations on a good day care center?
