Nu to Market
The Eagle reports that the Nu hotel on Smith Street near Atlantic is having a "soft opening" this week, with one floor of rooms now welcoming guests. The hotel's site shows rates starting at $349 a night, and the property offers amenities like a 24-hour workout room and complimentary breakfasts. All 93 rooms at the Nu are supposed to be available by the beginning of August.

350 per night? seems a bit overpriced.

Cheapest non-discounted rate at Marriott for tonight looks to be $329.00.

Have you tried booking as hotel room in NYC lately? NYC is very much under-served when it comes to hotels, and rates are accordingly high. There's no question Nu will achieve the rate.

On busy weeks, even booking a month out, you can still end up paying $400-$500 for the Marriott Brooklyn Bridge. Weekends tend to be cheaper, but it's still very expensive. Competition in the area will mean that they're no longer the only game in town and hopefully prices will drop.

NU should achieve that rate its at the best part of Brooklyn.
With BH/CH/CG and B-Heights and Dumbo all walkable with COurt and Smith and Montague all walkabe and the Brooklyn Bridge and Promenade all walkable its a win win scenerio.
Who would want to stay on 4th Ave??? It makes no sense...

I didn't walk in, but from the outside the Nu looks really nice already and there is still some work to be done. The lobby and trim around the doors looked cool.

right across the street the accommodations are a little tight but free, can't wait for that to re-open.

Has anyone else noticed the photo gallery on the hotel's website? If I'm not mistaken, mixed in with the shots of the rooms and happy Brooklynites is a shot of the skyline. The Philadelphia skyline.

I just booked a weekend room at the BB Mariott for $215 a night. This is crazy.

Why would they plan a room with the bed attached to the wall on one side that makes one person have to crawl across the bed or over the other person?
