Development Watch: 388 Bridge Street

Work at 388 Bridge Street, the site of a planned 49-story tower, is gaining momentum, helped perhaps by the issuing of New Building permits in late June, almost exactly a year after the original plans were filed. Other than public filings, info on the project has been hard to come by, as the Brooklyn Eagle found when it tried to speak with developer Greg Wolpert. So for now, all we know is that the SLCE Architects-designed tower will be 460,000-square-foot and have 360 units. Any other chatter on the street about this one?

Whatever it will look like, it is too damned big. Three hundred sixty units in one building is beehive living, not Brooklyn living.

LM - if this building bothers you then it's time to pick up that glue sniffing habbit again b/c there is plenty more to come on this block and nearby. this is downtown brooklyn, not clinton hill.

BrooklynLove, your pictures of Downtown Brooklyn Development were fantastic. They made my day. It is nice to know that I'm not the only person, other than Marty Mark, that is gaga over what is going on in this area.

Just came from the citypointnyc.com site and can't believe that it will have another mate with 388 Bridge. Condo's or rentals is the question. One thing that has to be remembered is that along with these skyscrapers comes a beautiful park with underground parking plus landscaping of Flatbush and Myrtle. Sheraton moving along nicely, then Aloft, then Indigo, then Hilton's, plus 80 DeKalb ....

When Lebron is playing down the block and I'm sitting in my season box, then I know I have reached Nirvana.
