Closing Bell: Flea + Bed Stuy Stoop Sales

flea-071808.jpg
It's looking like a great weekend for stoop sales, especially if you plan to be spending any time in Bed Stuy. There's one multi-stoop sale going down on the 500 block of Putnam (that's between Marcus Garvey and Throop) that will raise funds for the block association; for more info, check out the Bed Stuy Blog. Over on Bainbridge off Lewis Avenue, the Bainbridge Circle Block Association will be putting on a multi-stoop sale of its own. Both events run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Over at our own stoop sale of sorts in Fort Greene, we've got some exciting new vendors starting up this weekend: Limbo Antiques from New Haven along with Purple Star (clothes, small furniture, accessories) and Denim Rules (vintage jeans of every era, shape, and price). For more photos from last week, check out this post on the Flea Blog. The essentials: Flea hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday; it's located at 176 Lafayette Avenue in Brooklyn. Closest trains are the C and G to Washington/Clinton. Or you can take any of the number of trains that go to Atlantic Station and make the 10-minute stroll up Lafayette Avenue from there.

I went to the Flea last weekend and it was the best!! The vendors were so nice and there was great snacks and vintage clothing (mostly women). I'm sad that I can't go this weekend, too.
