This is just great! I'm so siked about yet another overpriced food alternative. I can barely afford this neighborhood anymore. We used to have a Key Food that served the working class population here. These high priced yuppie businesses have taken over. I've lived here for over 20 years and I'm angry because I'll soon need to find a more affordable place to live.

Hey 4:30 - Stop being so bitter and move on. Get over it - the neighborhood has gotten sooo much better - cleaner and safer. This is the US - not some socialist country.

The owner of the Key Food that closed on Court Street is opening this place. So it isn't a yuppie establishment.

And it is spelled "psyched."

There's a nice, working class Italian grocery next door, Good Food or whatever it's called, for 4:30's shopping needs. Good meats, Italian spoken, lottery sold, and etc. Plus narrow aisles, drop ceiling, and fluorescent lighting that keep it real. Vote with your feet!

Before it was Fujiya it was Dave's 5 and 10, I'd forgotten what a giant space it is, the fool floorplate of the apt. building until I peeked in the new windows...

Having lived in "Carroll Gardens" for 40+ years, I have to say that NOT all change is good.

The neighborhood is NOT safer, there's just a different kind of crime. There are less drugs & drunks in and around Carroll Park but A LOT MORE break-ins.

What do you think is going to happen to this "Fresh Gourmet" food that it made & sits out for hours if it doesn't sell? It will be resold the next day. I don't understand how people can trust overpriced Steam Table food and NOT go to a real restaurant.

For Good Meal at a GREAT value (to eat-in or to take-out)try the Red Rose on Smith right across from the Rite Aid (by the Carroll Street "F" train station. Or 2 blocks further up to Vinnies.

{Union Smith Cafe is the same as saying 'a helping of tomaine, please.'
