Streetlevel: Ice Cream Could be Fair Game For Sun, Flies

Clinton Hill isn't the only neighborhood with new outdoor seating in the pipeline. There's some good news for sun-worshipping sweet-tooths in the Heights: The Häagen-Dazs at 120 Montague Street gained approval from a Community Board 2 subcommittee last week to add sidewalk seating, according to District Manager Robert Perris. Zwei Schaufeln kugeln, bitte!

You missed commenting on the recent sign on that store.
Not only is Brooklyn Heights "America's First Suburb" and "New York City's First Landmark District", but it's also home to "America's First Hagen-Dazs Shoppe, circa 1976"
mmmmmmmm, calories

hasn't there always been seating here? I know there's a bench (not shown here -- I know they moved it whle they just redid the windows)

Haagen Dazs isn't German; it's from New Jersey.
In German it would be "zwei kugeln, bitte."

I wish they would put a Haagen Daaz or some sort of ice cream shop in Clinton Hill, preferably on Fulton Street, across from Au du monde or whatever that restaurant is called.Somewhere along Fulton St would work and also in the former bodega shop on Gates and St James.Ohhhh....to dream.

Haagen Dazs is neither German, nor from New Jersey. It originates from the Bronx. Also, the words mean nothing in any language. Completely made up.

haagen daaz is crap.
i can't believe anyone would get excited about this in this day and age.
it's one step up from the key food brand ice cream.

Pretty sure the Haagen Daaz in Park Slope was operating earlier than 1976 (in its original spot on 7th ave bet 1st and 2nd)
There was a Basken Robins on the corner of Montague and Henry throughout the 80's (beneath the Fred Astaire Dance Studio and Innovative Audio) across from the Waldenbooks that is now a Washington Mutual...
