Development Watch: 587 Washington Avenue

Next door to 904 Pacific Street is the one development on the block that is not part of the Hello Living complex. The four-story, four-unit building was designed by Benjamin Ellis Architects and is being developed by someone named Dante Demartino. Only time will tell what the facade is going to look like, but at least they've opted for large windows. GMAP P*Shark DOB

There are some wild buildings going up in that part of Prospect Heights. Last night the bf and I were walking down from a sushi spot on Washinton and passed anew development on Pacific near Grand called something weird (loading dock?) with huge front steel decks, open staircases and elevator lobbies. Looked more appropriate to LA than NYC.

Facade looks to be nice. There's rendering on the plywood fence at the corner of Washington and Pacific. Brick facade with the iron star thingies like in old warehouses. Looks nice in the rendering. I especially like how they are building the corner of Washington and Pacific on an angle - you can't see it in this photo though.

Isn't east of Washington considered Crown Heights?

It's always a matter of time before a border nazi emerges when discussing prospect or crown heights...

Loading dock 5 is the architect for the hello living project. I think it's pretty cool what they've done with this block but to each his own.

Yeah I didn't mean to be saying it was awful - just kinda unexpected. I wondered how cold it would be walking up and down those stairs some wintery night - like say tonight!
