Development Watch: 541 Washington Comes Into Focus

The Stephen B. Jacobs design for 541 Washington is now at the point where it's fair to weigh in. Our take? Unexciting but inoffensive. Points for facade alignment, scale and decent-size windows. What do you think?

Anyone know how many units this one is supposed to have? It kind of looks like a hospital.

This building never gets any comments. It is so blah. I don't think the design is so bad. Surely, this is going to be rental, right? Anyone have any info?

I live across the street from this development on Washington. The problem, as another commenter pointed out, is that it's so inoffensive, it inspires absolutely no response.
My main problem with the development is that if you step back and look at it in context of the other buildings on the block (all brownstones and the Cathedral condos on the corner), it sticks out like a sore thumb. The same goes for the two new condo developments further up on Washington between Fulton and Gates. Just very blah.
