Tony Soprano Doing Dumbo?

gandolfini-dumbo-041008.jpg
While Liv Tyler may be passing on Brooklyn, it's looking like James Gandolfini may be putting down roots in the borough. He's been spotted on a number of occasions recently in Dumbo. Yesterday, the Sopranos star was out walking his dog and grabbing a coffee on Front Street, according to the tipster who sent these photos in. A search of property records yields nothing. Theories?

Bring the Italians back to Brooklyn. Would love to see more of the red/white/green painted front porches and fences

Funny, I thought I saw him the other day but couldn't figure if it was him.

Perhaps he purchased that killer unit at 1 main st.

MrHancock:

I don't want to get people riled up and off track here but are you suggesting that the young artist types gentrifying Brooklyn are "easy" or just looking for a sugar daddy to pay their hefty mortgages??

Is this a gawker celeb siting blog now too?

When they start asking for real estate is when its time to rethink the relationship.

Do you think The What has any girls on the side?? In NJ???

Leave the guy alone. Who care where he lives. And, I can do without the Italian stereotyping.

Bravo Mr. Butler you've officially turned this blog into trash.

Posted by: guest at April 11, 2008 1:31 PM

turned?

it's been a piece of garbage for at least a month now.

the comments don't work properly, the "news" is mostly recycled, or better yet trash like this is posted.

it's getting bad.

even gowanuslounge gets more hits these days.

What an incredibly bourgeoise post.

You poseurs who claim to be so highbrow and busy scouring The Economist that you couldn't care less if James Gandolfini bought a condo in your building--you're funny. One of you probably took these pictures (Stars: They're just like us!).

Having great performers in our midst is one of the great things about NYC. Of course nobody cool would bother Gandolfini if they saw him on the street. But don't pretend you wouldn't breathlessly mention the sighting at your next Mensa meeting. Puh-lease.

Brownstoner traffic has dropped because this site is a more or less imperfect barometer of the local market. When our housing was at its most inflated, traffic to this site peaked. Those who thought they had chosen smartly by investing in overpriced garbage, for flip or otherwise, were assured by Brownstoner and others doing the same that their investments were genius. Let’s not forget that Brownstoner would, without qualification, puff every single piece of overpriced brick and mortar as a steal. We now know better. The market has tanked, and nobody (including Brownstoner) is claiming a 2 to 3 million dollar brownstone is a good value. Not surprisingly, interest in this site has dropped precipitously.
The conclusion is obvious: let’s call it a day. Brownstoner, shut this site down and give it a rest. We are all a little depressed, we don’t need this anymore.

Slow day Brownstowner?

Posted by: guest at April 11, 2008 6:01 PM

leave tony alone! and any other celebrity shit out of the site, also stop talking about depressing slow prices and unsold building, passion for brownstones and architecture? where is that gone? all you talk about is the real estate market, come on!

Please, Mr. B, don't condone, let alone ENCOURAGE, stalking. It's disgusting and dangerous.
