StreetLevel: The PictureBox Departmental Store

picturebox1-04-2008.JPG
Gowanus-based publisher PictureBox opened its "Departmental Store" on the corner of 3rd and Bond streets a couple weeks ago, and the small business is notable for its eye-catching riot of color (more photos on jump). PictureBox also sells stuff that's not available at any other store in G-town, including books from its imprint (like "The Wilco Book") and an assortment of clothing, prints and tchotchke. The store fronts the publisher's offices and is open Fridays from 1-6, Saturdays from 12-6, Sundays from 12-5, or by appointment.

It "sells stuff that's not available at any other store in G-town" because there aren't any other stores in Gowanus.
