Development Watch: SWO for 324 Grand Avenue

Last week, DOB slapped 324-328 Grand Avenue with a Stop Work Order for failing to have approved plans on site for underpinning and shoring; in addition, the inspector did not like the cracks in the "partially undermined" sidewalk. As you may recall, the developer tore down this building to put up a four-story, 29-unit one that's bound to look something like this one that he built a couple of years ago across the street. Ugh.

I live across the street in the 3-unit condo at 307 Grand. The developer of this site also built the rental building next to mine. The site has been problematic for many of us in the immediate vicinity. When the rental next to me was being constructed, there was also an issue with it damaging the side of my building.

A friend who lives on Cambridge Place directly behind this site said she heard that there was a huge amount of very large debris buried on the site, left over from the trolley line that used to pass in front of this lot.
