2AM closing time!!!! Well, as Gov. Hugh Carey once noted: If you don't have enough under your belt by midnight, you're not really trying. After 12 you're only working on the hangover.

There are lots of events that don't get going until after 1am.
New York is actually several cities, each of which never meet. Some people wake up at 5am, and some people pull themselves out of bed at noon. It's the timezone diversity that makes New York a great city.
