136 Clifton Place: Karl Does Bed Stuy

315-Greene-Avenue-Brooklyn-042908.jpg
Although the downzoning-related Stop Work Order from last October remains in place, 136 Clifton Place (aka 315 Greene Avenue) just got approval from DOB for a New Building application originally filed by none other than Karl Fischer way back in December 2005. The 48-unit project, which wasn't exactly a hit with the neighbors when it was live, is being brought to you by the same developers currently putting up the 12-story building just down the block at 339 Greene Avenue and is being financed by a $12.5 million construction loan from CPC. This one's only slated to be four stories though.

shocking to see them building In Bed-Stuy. From what I see most of the new buildings they put up are not selling. Correct me if i am wrong

Though I welcome development in Bed-Stuy, must it be out of place with the existing low-rise nature of the area?

Ugh.

11:23: What building(s) are you referring to? Interested to know your thoughts.

this part of bed stuy borders clinton hill and it is doing very well in sales/growth-if you drive another 15 minutes further into the neighborhood, the story may be different.
