A panel of experts provides tips on making your everyday life greener. Attendees include Rohit Aggarwala, Director of the Mayor's Office on Long-Term Planning and Sustainability; Anthony Pereira, CEO of altPower; Rob Crauderueff; and Elizabeth Royte, author of Garbage Land. Thursday, 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Free. Old First Reformed Church, Carroll Street and Seventh Avenue.

Clinton Hill/Fort Green Co-op Meeting
The Clinton Hill/Fort Greene Food Co-op holds its next meeting today. Thursday, 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Lafayette Avenue Presbyterian Church, 85 South Oxford (between Lafayette and Greene/Fulton).

If the government invested a fraction of the military budget in solar (and wind) power it could be much more accessible to the general public. Unfortunately, they deplete the world's finite oil supply instead of investing in renewable resources. Watch, "Who Killed the Electric Car?" if you get a chance.

A wind turbine on top of a brownstone will do nothing for you. It won't really generate electricity. Please tell that to the architect in last Sunday's real estate section. This stuff is getting rediculous as the dumb-hats start grabbing on to "alternative energy" more as a style choice than as an actual energy solution.

how would life be different if we had a real forward thinking energy policy in this country?
