Development Watch: Lexington Avenue Double-Shot

29-37-Lexington-Avenue-0308.jpg
There's lots of action brewing on the westernmost block of Lexington Avenue. In addition to the recent completion of the parking lot behind 15 Quincy Street, two lots on the block are in the post-demolition, pre-construction phase. At 29 Lexington (left), the developer wants to build a five-story, ten-unit residential building but DOB has disapproved the initial plans. Same deal at 37 Lexington (right): Plans for a five-story, 24-unit building were disapproved back in February. Man, do we hope these aren't run-of-the-mill monstrosities. This block is too architecturally special to deserve that.

Jeeze! I used to live at 33 Lex (the 3 story in the middle) -- I was somewhat unfairly evicted, but I am glad I found an alternate address to avoid this demolition/construction mayhem.

i live right around the corner and LOVE this block. i've had my eye on the big white loft looking building forever and would love to live there, or own something else on the block. does anyone know anything about that big white building? rentals, condos..anything available?

3:49 -Have you checked out 95 Lexington Avenue? Corcoran has it listed. I was there last weekend and most units are gone, but there are still a few left.
