Closing Bell: Speedo Sighting at Northside Piers

Several well-chiseled men were spotted wearing only air-tight speedos and, in some cases, designer tank tops at the Northside Piers parking garage last weekend. Toll Brothers, always creative about getting people out to their projects, donated the garage to BK Fashion Week{end}, which brought 1,500 people to the waterfront construction site five long blocks from the Bedford L Train stop. (There were six designers, with outfits ranging from unsightly to wearable, but the speedos definitely stole the show). In suburbia, Toll Brothers model homes host coloring contests, cooking shows and even Santa Claus, according to the company newsletter "Bricks & Sticks." But Williamsburg buyers are a little more discriminating, so here we get speedos. GMAP

this is actually a great marketing idea
Posted by: guest at March 25, 2008 4:22 PM
Maybe we can convince David von Something that begins with an "S" to don one of these outfits for Thursday's CB6 Land Use committee meeting. That might keep my nimbyism at bay.

That picture gave me a newfound sympathy for models. I hope he got paid a lot to wear that ugly, revealing and ridiculous piece of clothing.

5:10, I know what you mean. Apparently he's wearing a shirt, but I haven't noticed yet.

Let's just say I'm timeless, 5:48 #2. And no, that doesn't mean I'm an old perv. I'm actually a 30-something perv.

Posted by: guest at March 25, 2008 7:55 PM
I always thought that brownstone owners only had sex with the help. Maybe that just applies to Brooklyn Heights and certain blocks in Park Slope.
Well, I suppose Biff could hire this guy to serve mojitos at his next backyard affair.

B, Did you really run out of brownstones or topics like The What said?

"Introducing... the official summer uniform of Park Slope."
Only if he's wearing Crocs!

At least 95% of the posts on this site are from people who're logged in as "guest". This means that someone reading the comments on this site will be reading almost everything in faded type. Now, I understand why the faded type is used for "guests". However, in my opinion it's not worth it.
The faded type is clearly legible, but over the long haul it is more fatigue-inducing than regular, darker type. So, Mr. B, do you really want to condemn your readership to slogging through so much faded type?
Just a thought. Again, I do understand why the faded type was introduced. I just don't think it's worth it. You're shooting yourself in the foot (and inducing eyestrain in your readers) as things currently stand.
Many thanks for all you do.

He's too old. He was hot ten years ago.
Posted by: guest at March 26, 2008 8:42 AM
8:09, while I do live in Brooklyn Heights, unfortunately I don't have "help", at least not hired help, that is, nor do I drink mojitos. However, "backyard affair" does have a nice ring to it!
Posted by: Biff Champion at March 26, 2008 9:34 AM
Biff, try mojitos, you may like them.
Posted by: sam at March 26, 2008 11:32 AM
Thanks Sam. I've tried them (first one ever was in Cuba) and do enjoy them - just don't have them often.
Posted by: Biff Champion at March 26, 2008 12:18 PM
Oh my gosh!!! He is leaning right! That sucks because I don't like people on the far right, but if he moves it a little bit to the left..... :)
