CORD has made that corner a compete eyesore with the wheatpasting. Nothing democratic about it. Now they are wheatpasting the mailboxes, isnt that a federal offense?..people with way too much time on their hands.

Do opponents of down-zoning and landmarking ever have any sort of equal time opportunities in these CGNA meetings?

So far it has always been a big 40min-1hr. meeting presentation by the downzoning fanatics with barely tolerated questions from those skeptical of the wisdom of downzoning to follow. It has been a couple years straight of this. Only Mr. Stein has come forth representing property owners and developers who are other wise consistently demonized.

The question and answer period also always includes some genuinely mentally ill people. So it always comes off as a wise considered downzoning point of view and the legitamate property owner interests get shoved off in the whacko portion of the debate. It is sort of a Fox News sort of format.

They need to landmark this area now. What a beautiful little village.

I agree that CORD has completely ruined that plaza with their crappy posters. Isn't graffitti illegal? Why hasn't the MTA or police taken them down yet?

'Democracy Wall', my foot. More like: 'Ugly, Whiny NIMBY Wall'.

Unless you can read the very fine print (and I certainly can't) what leads you to conclude that CORD is responsible for this? The only name I see is the CGNA.

Those that oppose the downzoning can make their own posters for the democracy wall.

Cord has been repeatedly been linked to the Democracy Wall, they have had their press conferences in front of it, the website is filled with pictures of the wall, Gowanus Lounge mentions the wall and CORD in the same breath repeatedly. I doubt 2 org's would fight for the same thing and not be linked. And its not about opposing what they are doing , its about making the plaza they are fighting for ugly with the technique they are using to state their cause. And yes, defacing a mailbox is a federal offense, which might be descriptive of a groups character.
