It's the 'slow development' movement. Very current. Those bricks are actually growing organically and ranging free. They've seeded the crenelations, and in the spring, steel spanners will slowly sprout across the top.

actually, they're almost finished. this is the new look for 2009 and beyond, it's definately eco-friendly but with a third world look to blend in with the general climate of things in the US. look for lots of colorful street vendors and you have to buy all your water bottled or risk disease. they should begin removing scaffolding in the coming days.

The only thing growing at this place is mold and vermin babies.

I lived across the street from this building from 1994-6. It was a crack house. Then again, about 1/3 of the buildings in the neighborhood looked abandoned in those times.

There were no windows, part of the roof was missing and the scaffolding was there before my arrival. According to my old neighbors, it had been that way for almost 20 years. All the rain, snow, and filth must have had a long term effect on the structure.

Look, you want to renovate this building, good for you. I am all for improving this place and making it habitable. But calling it Health House? That's a good way to get sued when an inspector finds all the mold, bugs and vermin.
