Viking and Sub-Zero it ain't, but I was satisfied with all my transactions with Olivio, just in case anybody was wondering about this used appliance warehouse.

PS two bedrooms down 4%. Makes yeaterday's COTD look more like a stretch. FG and CH down big, but the average for Brooklyn is up nearly 8% in the fourth quarter. So depite what The What has been saying, not everything cratered. It would appear that certain nabes pulled everything up. I guess Dumbo, Heights and W'burg are holding their own. Reinforces the point that when the tide goes out, its better to have your boat close to shore as it drops less.

But 8:44 the amount of transactions have fallen!! So instead of 25 houses selling for 1 million you have just 3 sales. Plus those numbers are bullshit. Real Estate is over, done and kaput.
BTW Do you see Gold and Oil??!! They have gone wild and very soon the Fed cannot lower rates in this environment. You will have 4.00 gas coming your way. Man people are clueless inflation is killing us and all they worry about is "How much can I get". Sad.

Not sure if this is news (since I think it was already reported), but no Brooklyn Nets until 2010-2011.

Do people still get their stoves, AC, refrigerators and transistor radios fixed? Always wondered how Olivo on Bedford/South 5th appliance service thrived over the years. Thought we dump old stuff and buy new ones.

Good morning Mr. What. I've noticed you've cleaned up your language the last couple of days. Thanks. BTW, I love your posts.

Link to the NY Post article doesn't work.

Yeah, 9:34, some definition of "we" does indeed dump their old appliances. Then people like Olivio pick them up, rebuild them (or cannibalize them for parts) and re-sell them, primarily to landlords. I bought twice from them and once called them to pick up some old, but working, appliances, which they gladly took away (from an apartment in the Southside). -- 8:11

8:11 very perceptive of you to get "we" meaning our disposable culture. won't it be interesting if they they can transform them into stainless steel for industrial look in the kitchen. 9:34

Olivio also does house call repairs, at a very reasonable price.

(And I bet they could fix your state-of-the-art stainless appliances.)

I am WAYYYYY mad about the closing of the Carlton Avenue Bridge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That bridge is the main pedestrian link between neighborhoods. I walk between PS, Flatbus, PH and FG all the time. I don't have wheels and taking the Vanderbilt bus is not a great option AT ALL...way out of the way and costs money. They should put in a pedestrian walkway while this MERDE goes on for YEARS!...and it's apparently only so they get to use the bridge for their own access...they are unlikely to demolish the bridge for a long, long time if they even demolish it at all.
This seems like a Trojan Wedge being silently HAMMERED into the community!
THANKS RATNER!

And they're closing the bridge which they 1) don't own but will have full and sole use 2) don't even have enough of the land in place to start the project, justify the taking of city streets, etc.
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhh!
