StreetLevel: Night Fever on 4th Avenue
The rush to open bars on 4th Avenue hasn’t quite kept up with the rush to build condos (what could?), but a new nightclub will soon open on the thoroughfare, joining the cluster between St. Marks and Bergen, and farther south, Cattyshack. Garfield’s (on Garfield Street and the west side of the avenue) is set open within the next month or two. We don’t have a ton of details about the business, which is going to be a nightclub, but the under-renovation space has looked extremely large whenever we’ve peeked in. GMAP

I hope it will be a club that caters to people of all sexual preferences, races, genders, kinks and shoe sizes.

2:53...that sounds great. i'd settle for that.
as long as there are some hot gay men.
and as long as the straight men aren't put off by my gayness.

I'm gonna have to agree...I'm really diggin 4th Avenue and the Gowanus area in general.
It's fun to watch all of us go "down the hill" from the Slope on Friday night and party down on 4th and then to stumble up the hill back home, stopping for some smokes on 5th avenue.
It just feels so neighborhoody and urban.
And nice to have this kinda edgy area so close by to the purty parts of Park Dope.

i'm a straight guy and i think gay guys are cool. i'll hang out with you any ol' time 2:56. long as you're not put off by me ogling the ladies!

Not sure, 3:01. But I have to say it sounds vaguely familiar. Doesn't sound too far off from my drunken night at Catty last Friday.
Except I picked up some Doritos and a Milky Way in addition to the cigs on my way home.

2:56 here...
I like helpin out a fellow breeder in scoring the ladies, in fact.
You know they love the gays.
If I could find a guy half as easily as I find the ladies (are they BLIND?) I'd be golden.
Wanna shoot some pool sometime?
Posted by: guest at January 23, 2008 3:07 PM
Uh, do you mean Garfield PLACE?

Come on, 4:33.
It's Gabby. What do you expect?
Give her a break.
She's just doing her best.

Re: 3:07:
Is "shoot some pool" a code word for playing 'pokey-pokey-in-Gow anus'? If so, I'm IN!
In other 4th Ave news, who has been tagging all the buildings lately?
Anyone else notice a big upsurge in graffiti on 4th Ave and in PSlope in general?!

Isn't this the address where they grabbed those terrorists who were planning on doing in the subways? This new place should be a blast!

Re: 3:01 "It just feels so neighborhoody and urban."
Um, yea...Gowanus IS a neighborhood in the city of Brooklyn...how else is it supposed to "feel?"
And before there were bars/clubs on 4th avenue, did you ever bother to leave the confines of Park Dope and go an avenue further West to explore what already existed there?
