The three townhouses and Freddy's bar building pictured above are all slated to be demolished for the construction of AY. Damn shame.

Not really. For one thing, Freddy's has to be the most boring bar I've ever encountered. Even for a "neighborhood" bar, it's BORING and filled with bland wannabes. I can't understand why anyone would miss it.

Freddy's sucks. Bad beer selection, bad art, and bad music. Good riddance!

Posted by: guest at December 18, 2007 5:08 PM

"Freddy" doesn't even his name on the sign! Pathetic.

Those townhouses are masterpieces and there is no way that they could be reproduced - anywhere. I mean look at them. (Rolls eyes)

"Those townhouses are masterpieces"

Indeed they are. Pity they'll be torn down as part of a scandalous taxpayer ripoff.

This photo is so Brooklyn.
This is it.
The essence.

7:12 - Yes, clearly there is blight here.

Is this really true? These homes will be torn down for AY? How much will the owners get for these properties. How far out are they going to take away people's properties.

Are Ft. Greene, Clinton Hill, and Prospect Heights the most vulnerable?

Couldn't disagree more with Queens Crapper and the first several commentators on that blog.

I couldn't agree MORE with the Queens Crapper.

Why can't we "threaten" the government with the law?

Posted by: guest at December 19, 2007 8:18 AM

It's not what you say, it's how you say it. Why should Lancaster assume that the Crapper is just a big mouth and not a potential threat to her safety? -- 8:04

These are some of the few townhouse type properties that will be demolished. The vast majority of the properties being condemned are commercial/industrial properties on Atlantic and Pacific Street.

Amusingly, most of those properties are owned by other developers. The building with the "Stop Eminent Domain Abuse" propaganda on it is the Boymlergreen headquarters!
