If this is the street I think it is, I saw a guy stabbed just at the bottom of that stoop. Very, very sad.

To describe Montrose as an "advocate" for the preservation of CH doesn't seem quite apt. If he were about preservation, his posts would reflect this. They'd be succinct, focused attempts to educate the public about the many virtues of CH. They would not be what they are: long, unfocused exercises in self-aggrandizement and naval gazing.

Now, naval gazing is a harmless pasttime, and if Montrose wants to cultivate his own 'cult of the ego', there's little harm in this. However, it does occasionally divert attention away from what we really ought to be discussing here: the beautiful and upcoming community of Crown Heights. This is my only complaint.

And by the way, I have a vested interest in the future of Crown Heights because it is my home.

We wanted to report the stabbing, 10:15, but there were so many prostitutes and drug dealers crowding the sidewalks that we were unable to reach the police station.

We eventually ran into someone who had a cell phone and they called the police.
