Duffield Street Press Conference
Today at noon, a press conference will be held at 227 Duffield Street. Last week, the city announced that it will not use eminent domain to condemn the house, which was once part of the Underground Railroad. Monday, 12:00 p.m. 227 Duffield Street (between Fulton & Willoughby Streets in Brooklyn).
Community Board 3 Meeting
Tonight at 7:00 p.m., Community Board 3 holds its monthly meeting at 1958 Fulton Street, between Ralph and Howard Avenues. Note the new location.

Behind that circa 1950's commercial bump-out is a nice 1850's rowhouse that once was home to an abolitionist family. One of many on this block. It was a long time ago.
Brooklyn was its own city with its own New England character, quite different from that of the "Godless" New York across the Bay.
