Development Watch: 541 Washington Avenue

541-Washington-Avenue-1207.jpg
The inflatable rat is gone and work's been chugging along this fall at 541 Washington Avenue in Clinton Hill. The sixth story is now under construction, with two more to come. When all's said and done, the Stephen B. Jacobs-designed building will have 66 units. Does anyone know whether this will have an affordable component?

With the money that's already been invested there, then you add a shaky market. I highly doubt there's an "affordable component" there.

No affordable COMPONENT. The WHOLE THING will be affordable when AY is built. But seriously, the recession will slowly make the development (and it's competition) more and more affordable. But not really because many of us will be out of a job. Affordable to those who remain solvent.

I don't believe there is an affordable component. I also thought it was to be seven stories, and at my last count the other day, counting the ground floor, they were on the seventh.

Just checked DOB. Says it will be seven stories, so I think what you see in the pic will be the top floor.
