Closing Bell: Loving Those Views at 133 Water

Not sure when this roof terrace was added to 133 Water Street in Dumbo (it wasn't there earlier this summer) but it's looking a little jerry-rigged to us. Can't beat those Manhattan Bridge views though!

Do you really love these views or are you being facetious?

I live in the building and that deck has been there since at least July 4th. Furniture, not all seen in the photo, was added at a later date. The views are actually quite nice. Yes we can shake hands with people on the passing train, but it also overlooks Brooklyn Bridge Park and we have views of lower Manhattan. From the inside of the deck it is rather nice construction and keeps my 2 yr old safe.

The view is fine. It's the train noise I'd worry about. I hope your 2-year-old wears earplugs when playing outside.

As mentioned this is a roof deck for all memebers of the building. Honestly, they could have done a better job with the roofdeck such as completing all parts of the roof but it gets the job done.

The noise level when you are on the roof isnt bad at all. The worst noise comes if you are below the bridge on the street as the sound shoots downward from the trains. You can easily have a conversation on the roof with trains passing, but if you are below on the street then forget about it...

Overall, the building is pretty good. Soundproofing with the windows is amazing. Even when there is a thunderstorm outside you cant hear anything which is impressive. Not the best building but far from bad..
