Clinton Hill Bathroom Reno: All's Well That Ends Well

TJbath122207.jpg
The final report from the Clinton Hill bathroom renovators: "The crew finished on friday evening and cleared out the guest room enough that after a relatively painless clean up we were ready for the family to arrive on saturday. Phew! Happy holidays!" Not only was the bathroom done on time, it looks beautiful.

Wow! that is amazing.

Was the issue that the contractors slacked until the last minute? or was it that they got started late?

Yowza, this must be the first all-positive thread, ever.

Great job in a pinch. Im sure you're relieved and your guests are loving a private bathroom. Its a little Christmas renovation miracle ;)

This looks terrific!

I may have missed the details of the fixtures and tile of this bath. Can you please re-post or link to the previous post?

Oh, and a closer look at that gorgeous floor would be nice too :) Thanks!

As I asked before:
If the contractor gets your bathroom done in time, please GIVE US THE NAME AND CONTACT PHONE NUMBER!!!!

MERRY Bathroom!

Beautiful! My favorite kind of bathroom, crisp white, traditional/vintage. The black and gray accents are very nice. I love that big wall-mount sink. If we had enough storage in our bathroom I'd love a sink like that. But alas we have to have a vanity cabinet because we don't have a linen and toiletries closet in the bathroom. I dream of having one again someday.

Posted by: guest at December 25, 2007 11:03 AM

Hope your gray wall is semi-gloss to repel moisture and mildew.

Posted by: guest at December 25, 2007 11:07 AM

I've always had tile halfway up and painted walls the rest of the way in my bathrooms in both houses I owned, and never had a problem with painted walls and mildew. Whether you have tile all the way up, or painted walls, you still need to make sure a bathroom is ventilated, regardless. Or if not ventilated at least always keep the door open when it's not in use.

Very, very nice.

hi all. thanks for the nice comments. this is the second bathroom we have done with this contractor and it is the second great experience so i feel very comfortable recommending him to the brownstoner community! He has a great crew. Very neat.

the sink is an american standard plaster work sink. the floor tiles are standard unglazed hex tiles in slate grey with a white accent. the tub is a vitabath white soaker tub. its very deep, its basically a jacuzzi without any of the holes cut for the fittings. the walls are benjamin moore 'moonshine' mixed from their kitchen and bath mildew resistant base.

happy holidays!

And the wall tiles?

gorgeous. L-O-V-E the floor. stunning, clean, spacious.

Beautiful job! Anyone would be delighted to pinch a loaf there...

Posted by: GHB at December 26, 2007 12:45 PM

Beautiful and clean.
I just hope it's not too cold for a bath since the tub is next to the window. brrrrrrrr!!

Posted by: guest at December 26, 2007 1:55 PM

I personally haven't seen one single bathtub or shower in Brooklyn that isn't under a window, 1:55. Just renovate your own bathroom already and stop being so jealous!

Great job. I really like the fixtures, the deep tub and the big sink. The best is the floor which is a twist on a traditional design. The black with the white border is great. I would probably paint a little richer shade but it is really great job. Congratulations.
