Streetlevel: Restaurant Pending at 145 Atlantic Avenue

145atlanticave1130.jpg
There's a new restaurant coming to 145 Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn Heights. Probably. The person starting the restaurant had not incorporated yet and provided very little detail when she applied to Community Board 2 for a wine and liquor license earlier this month. At the applicant's request, the matter was postponed to the next meeting of the community board's Health, Environment and Social Service committee on December 5. Perhaps we'll learn more then. I used to work here when it was La Boulliabaise restaurant, the building has a horrible roach problem. One time I served a customer olive oil with herbs and garlic and....a roach!

Good luck, you are gonna need it.

BH starts at State St. This is Cobble Hill. But I notice that Cobble Hill doesn't seem to be a proper entity on this site.

5.31: Wrong. It's Brooklyn Heights and always has been. Cobble Hill starts on the south side of Atlantic and runs to Douglass.

Sorry 5.40, but BHeigts extends to the north side of Atlantic. That's why the NYC Landmarks border for the Brooklyn Heights Historic district goes to Atlantic.

I think it's actually located in "Atlantic Heights"

who cares what its called this week... Brownstoner pissing contest du jour.

I think its great that this part of Atlantic is getting more and more restaurants. I hope they all do well, once Trader Joes and Urban outfitters open that area will be a destination for many. and I live in the Columbia Basin, what they call many things but in reality its the waterfront.

Lets just say Cobble Brooklyn then

Posted by: guest at December 1, 2007 12:58 AM

It could be Lower Heights...
or Brooklyn Depths...

To answer someone's question about what happened to the bucks lodge...

I believe there is not much money in selling $2 shots and $3 beers.

Busy Chef is awful--or at best, mediocre--and someone keeps posting on various Brooklyn blogs about how great the place is. Fishy.

Posted by: guest at December 4, 2007 10:13 PM

Busy Chef is awesome. Chef Dan is truly a wonderful teacher and a master baker.
