The Minerva: Signs Point To Go
Everyone’s favorite Greenwood Heights problem child, Minerva, aka 614 7th Avenue, is finally poised to rise. The DOB’s approved plans for a five-building development (the department had given the thumbs-down to a July filing calling for 11 buildings on the 100x100 lot). Although the development’s buildings are going to be quite a bit shorter than the 70 feet that were originally planned, the 40-foot building on the corner of 23rd Street is still expected to block Lady Minerva's views of the Statue of Liberty. And that means we’re probably going to hear plenty more about the project from the many concerned citizens of Greenwood Heights (and possibly the cemetery brass) before this is all said and done.

In the movie version, Minerva and Miss Liberty are actually alien beacons forming an energy circuit, and when the circuit is broken, the plasma flow enters any living thing in its path and wreaks....unspeakable consequences. Hint: The CGI FX start with the developer's eyeballs. Pic's working title: "Killer Vu."

Brenda, LOL!
Glad you did go into a reanimation story line, as would be expected.
In all seriousness, this who project has been the downside of defeating a vesting appeal at the BSA. We have friends in the area and the stink from the site, garbage and mosquitoes were just too much after 2 years.
I'm sure they will be glad to see something contextual go in there, as long as it's not a view blocker...and staves off Brenda's alien invasion.

Sh*t, I meant "DID NOT go into a reanimation story line."
Referencing the fact I am tired of hearing zombie-esque stories on this blog from some of our snarkier posters.

Looks like there's a cop on stakeout in this picture.

Brenda IS an alien.

But of course--it's why I always post from my home planet.
