Development Watch: 240 Atlantic Avenue Revisited

236-240atlantic.JPG
In last week's post revealing the future look of 252 Atlantic Avenue, a commenter pointed out that there's been more news about 240 Atlantic Avenue since we first posted about it back in June. As 110 Livingston reports, the latest plan (which, like the first one, was disapproved) calls for a five-story, 55-unit residential building. The 145,000-square-foot structure has been designed by Moss & Sayad Architects, a firm whose work we're unfamiliar with. No renderings out there yet, as far as we're aware.

This looks like a serious project. At least 6 pieces of machinery have been digging the foundation for the past 4 weeks. The footprint is very large as it includes the parking lot that dumped onto Pacific St. I gotta believe it will be close in scale to the Two Trees bldg that houses the Y across the street.

only four stories, according to the plans, but a substantial amount of underground parking
