Development Watch: 154 Berry Street

154berryrendering1007.jpg
On the corner of Berry and North 5th in Williamsburg, a six-story, 48,000-square-foot residential building is on the rise. Springing from the mind of the ubiquitous Karl Fischer, the design calls for 40 apartments and 20 parking spaces. After a Stop Work Order slowed things down this summer, work appears to have resumed. We were unable to dig up any renderings. Anyone know anything about it? Update: Thanks to a reader, we now have the above rendering in our possession. Thanks, Mench. And we agree that it looks pretty cool.

Not bad, and I usually don't like modern design.

this is a great location. if they don't mess up the construction, it'll do well.

It is indeed a mighty nice trailer.

why are there never black people in renderings?

Posted by: guest at October 30, 2007 2:25 PM

The clothes are pretty funny as well!

No polynesisans either. We should have one person of at least every ethnic group represented.

there are very few black people in williamsburg. it's not the black yuppie haven that fort greene is and doesn't have the older middle class blacks like fg, ch, bed-stuy, etc...

williamsburg is similar to cobble hill or carroll gardens in that it gentrified from the white blue collar class and there were a lot of italians in the hood.

cobble hill and carroll gardens don't really have black people either.

Wow. Looks like every other building popping up in the neighborhood. An architectural marvel!

"there are very few black people in williamsburg..."

WOW!!!! Not only are you an idiot but you're a fucking racist. At the very least Wiki some information before you speak and write. I know the midwest has very little to offer in terms of culture or ethnic diversity and I'm sure your anthropology degree has served you well there...

Wait,OK. You were kidding. Right? Right.
