Northside Piers on Fire!
A reader in Williamsburg just sent in this photo of Tower 1 at the Northside Piers on fire. No news yet on the cause. Update: The fire's under control now, according to INSIJS; more coverage also over at Curbed. Another Update: According to Gothamist, the cause of the fire was a kettle being used to prepare roofing tar.

Is that a fire or they just testing the burner on the furnace?

I wonder why I did not see any news coverage of this like when the borgata's unfinished tower caught fire this weekend.
No place this close to the water will become worthless (short of a hurricane.)
