Did anyone even know this house was for sale? I follow the Boerum Hill townhouse market quite closely and I never heard/saw this house going on the market. Anyone know what the intererior condition is like? And who is that broker?

thanks

must have been a lightning, private deal.
the present owner has been there around 8 years.
the original owners were pioneers.

I actually toured this house when it was on the market. The listing was pretty subtle, only in the print edition of the times real estate section, not on their website.
The house was in decent condition, with plenty of original detail. However, there was a lot of unfinished renovation work going on. As I recall, the garden level bathroom was completely gutted and the kitchen ceiling was pulled out to reveal the support beams. There was also a roof leak that seemed to be difficult to control.
The realtor said the owners had basically given up mid-renovation and wanted to get out.
The set up was interesting, with a garden/parlor owner's duplex, and upstairs 3 bedroom, duplex rental.

Interseting post.
brownstone renovation is not for the faint of heart. I can understand just wanting out after a while, especially if you see the markets heading south. I think in the current market this house is a tad overpriced. The difference between "almost done" and "all done" is huge. People are willing to pay big bucks for the convenience of buying a place in move-in condition.
