Pequena Owners Snag Former Bodegas Space
After sitting empty for the last year while PACC took its time picking a new tenant, the former Bodegas space at the corner of Clinton and Fulton finally has a future. According to neighborhood sources, the posse behind Fort Greene staples Pequena, Moe's, Maggie Brown and Olea have won the beauty contest. We haven't heard what they intend to do with it but it's safe to say it'll be a whole lot better than the Applebee's that was rumored to be under consideration. Great news! What type of cuisine would you like to see them do?

Actually, I heard from a reliable source that they were planning on opening a gourmet food shop--which trumps any restaurant, IMO.

Agreed, tinarina.

whatever it is, i can't wait. i live a block away and it almost brings tears to my eyes to see that nothing has been done with that space.

Please, no gourmet!

That should be "true".

Whatever they do it will be great. I love their restaurants.

How about a real pub, with more than a few beers on tap and plenty in bottle and not a Stella or Brooklyn in site? I'm certain they would totally knockout the pub-food menu.
Posted by: Clinton Hillster at April 25, 2007 6:17 PM
er...Stella and Brooklyn should not be on site or in sight.
Posted by: Clinton Hillster at April 25, 2007 6:20 PM
Love the pub idea. But with good food. And takeout with delivery please please! And this works out perfectly because then we can join our Park Slope brothers and sisters and debate the kids in pub debate all day long on here too. Loving Brooklyn!

Yes! That's great news. They consistently do good restaurants. I love Peqeuna's, Olea, esp. Maggie Brown....please make it a restaurant and not just a shop.

Pub would be great! Although I like Brooklyn.
Posted by: Anonymous at April 26, 2007 9:34 AM
shop would be f-ing great tho - pick up your good cheese to go with your good wine from Olivino! also like the idea of a pub, but definitely with some stella or even Chimay! nothing wrong with a little gourmet...there's enough non-gourmet floating around on Fulton for everyone to get their fair share of what they desire. and get their nails done too. several times over.

Last I heard they plan to make it a combination gourmet food shop and pizzeria. I think it is an excellent addition to the nabe.

How about a methadone clinic? Oh wait-there is one a block away. Never mind.
Posted by: Clinton Hill Lover at April 26, 2007 8:39 PM
Anything that acommodates more strollers and breast feeding is fine with me.
Posted by: sally at April 27, 2007 7:21 PM
How about a heroin shop so the people from the clinic don't have to walk all the way up to Putnam and Grand?
Posted by: Anon at April 27, 2007 11:39 PM
Yay, another inconsistent, erratic restauarant from the posse! Why perfect one restaurant when you can open another?
