Southside Bites in the 'Burg

Williamsburg is packed with eateries, but it's easy for neighborhood hipsters to stick with known quantities like the newish sushi, Thai, and health-food joints in the nabe's northern reaches. And we'll admit we're not much better, clamoring for the DuMac anytime we're in a 20-block radius of our beloved burger joint. But Block Magazine offers five good reasons to branch out and try one of the Southside's myriad Spanish spots--El Puente (pictured) with its simple and yummy roast chicken, for example. Have you checked out any of these places, or do you know of other off-the-radar Williamsburg haunts we ought to try?

Los Primos is awesome. Even the hole in the wall spanish food joints in Wburg are awesome for some great great take out.

Why are you glorifying crappy McDonalds by calling a vastly superior burger a DuMac? This is the corporate McDonalds-aziation of NYC that the suburbanization folks were talking about the other day. Don't contribute to it.

Los Primos is great too! Didn't remember the name, but we go there after working out sometimes. Nothing like washing it all down with some rice and beans...

I don't think BrooklynZoo is kidding. They are referring to DuMont's Macaroni and Cheese I believe, which might be a tip of the hat to Kraft, or might be a tip of the hat to everyone's favorite kid food and wonderful DuMont staple.

Thanks for clarifying, gagneur--in the original post I was referring to the "DuMac and Cheese," which is what they call their amazing version of the dish.
