No Portal Required: Board Lets Firms Off Hook

trdportal1.jpgREBNY announced on Thursday that participation in its much-publicized public listings portal is no longer being required of its members. Doesn't this pretty much defeat the purpose? REBNY is trying to put on a smile: "We expect that the site will have an overwhelming percentage of exclusive listings which are on the market," said the group's spokesman Frank Marino. The New York Times must be breathing a huge sigh of relief.

The ineffecient scam that is NYC real estate continues unabatted! I can't wait for the day when a true MLS is set up, brokers are eliminated entirely, and only transaction/legal fees are paid.
