The Donald: Giving It Away

Donaldtix1.jpg
The Donald sent us these VIP tix in the mail last week (having no idea of our online alias) for his upcoming "Creating Wealth the Trump Way" seminar later this month at the New York 2007 Creating Wealth Summit. Is it any surprise they're having to give away the $149 tickets? Must not be an abundance of people willing to pay for financial advice from a 29-year-old who's never done anything for himself.

ditto

I got 'em too. It says something about "billionaire Donald Trump". I wonder if he could actually raise a billion dollars. I thought he was leveraged out the wazoo. I'll bet his bottom line is actually negative.

Still, he does live like he's rich.

Wealth Creation Secret #1: Have rich parents.

Posted by: z at March 5, 2007 10:24 AM

Yup, I got 'em, too.

Posted by: lesterhead at March 5, 2007 10:26 AM

You got one too? And I thought I was special! It was handwritten!! :(

Either Donald Trump isn't as rich as he likes to tell people, or he just has no taste at all. He's drained almost all of the value out of his brand by slapping his name on everything and hoping it will sell. Trump water anyone? Does a billionaire real estate developer really need to do such things to make money?

Donald Trump inhereted a real estate empire from his father, and Donald Trump Jr. is following in the footsteps of the family legacy. It's hard for me to respect anyone who spends all of their time telling the world how much they've accomplished, when they would have never accomplished anything without daddy's money.

I got them too. The irony!

z has it right.

If the Donald wasn't born rich, he'd be a used car salesman somewhere, and dating strippers instead of models.

But would he still have the combover?

Donald Trump Jr=Genetic Lottery winner

Posted by: Anonymous at March 5, 2007 11:20 AM

Hmmm...seems like the question should be, who DIDN'T receive tickets? I don't think youth has anything to do with it. While Don Jr. probably has no information worth giving out, the younger sister Ivanka has a pretty good head on her shoulders and graduated summa cum Laude from Wharton. She's the one with the brains.

Posted by: North Sleeper at March 5, 2007 11:28 AM

11:28: She didn't graduate from Wharton. She has a BS in Economics from UPenn, but it's from the school of arts and sciences, not Wharton.

She's dumb as dirt. Trust me, I know.

Think Amway seminar. "Tools" a.k.a. motivation for sale.

Posted by: Anonymous at March 5, 2007 1:58 PM

Was Trump ever really a legitimate developer?

Posted by: Anonymous at March 5, 2007 2:03 PM

We also got two...Admission is free, pay as you leave.

Posted by: Anonymous at March 5, 2007 2:16 PM

I got them too--worthless trash IMO--like anything else with Trump's name attached.

Remember, the real money is not made by the "optional" entry fee. Aside from Donald "Lucky Rich Kid" Trump speaking, they'll also be professional salesmen hamming it up who'll convince lots of folks in the crowd to invest in some bullshit buy real estate cheap study program or some similar crap.

It's a scam, but a darn good one. Talk about easy money!

Re: "Either Donald Trump isn't as rich as he likes to tell people, or he just has no taste at all." - uh, yup.

this bastard got money from his slumlord pops, and has made his way through this vail of tears as a con man, plain and simple.

how anyone can be naive enough to fall for his baloney is ... aw, never mind, there's one born every minute.

Last time I saw The Donald in person, *I* got paid to be there, so free tickets to see the man and his hair have no lure for me.

Posted by: Anonymous at March 6, 2007 12:36 AM

I went april 6th 2007 and it was in bloomington mn and the reason i went was because i was staying at a hotel out there and I knew Id get a free lunch plus a really good laugh at all the suckers there. I arrived and had my ticket but they never ask for it. They just said put down your info on this card and your set? So much for a ticket, they could have accept anyone without a ticket, the type of people there are really old people, really odd somewhat dumb people and really desperate looking people, trust me on this one. They know these type of people show up and I never got a ticket i used my brothers, they send out to people who dont have any background in business or marketing and I know because my ex also got tickets and she has no background neither does my brother. It went from 8am to 5pm of course i left after lunch and went to the hotel bar downstairs and just checked in every hour or so for the hell of it. Donald jr walked right by me and had a no expression look on his face when he saw me, sorta like he was better then me? I have much more marketing experience and have worked much harder than him in my life yet he's more successful, odd how things work like that.I never got the free book because i never stayed that long but who cares. After each speaker they the speaker wanted you to buy their system and each one ranged from $3000 to $5000 and if you can smell bull like me you'll know that the info their selling you can find out for free and that my friend is why they send these tickets to people who dont know better and have money on their credit cards, all the speakers and people working there are so arrogent just by the way they talk and present themselves like money is the only thing that matters. You have to sign up there to get their special price on the courses that are being offered, I saw a ton of people sign up and I thought wow none of those people will ever be successful if they are that guliable, they even made everyone eat their lunch while the speaker talked because they said they need the time for other speakers, lol yeah right, its so you dont leave after lunch and so you can hear the worthless crap i already knew that others dont know. These people must be stopped, they take dumb guliable peoples money and dont care. I took a shuttle back to my hotel and was with one of the guys who helps out at those things and he was talking to the driver and boy was he a douche bag, i wanted to slap him like a punk that he is. He said to the driver that they send out a million of those tickets a week. To end I have to say this, free lunch is good but they do that so everyone does not leave and get lunch because that would risk them not coming back to buy their worthless crap.
