the Bushwick apt doesn’t look like a true 2br, I may be wrong but it appears that you have to go into 1 br to get to the other.

Ooh ooh ohh I loved these things.

I'm more in the purchase market, but happy to see Craig's Picks back.

There's a certain "we waste our day so you won't have to" convenience there, thx for bringing it back.

my verdict: every single one is overpriced!

Posted by: Anonymous at March 7, 2007 10:55 AM

Anonymous 10:40...

I have confidence that someday you will own property in Brooklyn, perhaps even something that provides income from one or more rentals. Then you'll understand why the subject is important to those of who do own rental units. Until then, keep reading and learning about the market. Good luck!

Uh, methinks 10:40 was being facetious...

Posted by: Wallis at March 7, 2007 11:15 AM

good lord, that bushwick place is halfway to jfk. For $1600? hah. $1200 would be asking too much.

Posted by: Anonymous at March 7, 2007 11:21 AM

forget the rentals...what's this common grounds coffee house opening soon?!
actually, the lincoln place one looks nice.

Posted by: Anonymous at March 7, 2007 11:35 AM

They all look overpriced to me, especially the Bushwick one! That is FAR!

Posted by: BrooklynZoo at March 7, 2007 11:40 AM

The Prospect Heights one doesn't look bad actually. Big apartment for the money, at least.

Posted by: BZoo at March 7, 2007 11:45 AM

I Love the Rental Posts!!!! I wish there were more of them.

and more follow up on previous HOTDs

Posted by: NewStoner at March 7, 2007 11:47 AM

Is it overpriced if somebody pays it?

Great new feature. Not everybody at this site owns. (Speaking as an owner.)

Posted by: linusvanpelt at March 7, 2007 12:43 PM

yes, these rental posts are very interesting. it's a good reminder we live in a city in which most people rent.

i live in bushwick and even i think the bushwick apt is way overpriced (is that kitchen carpeted??)

Posted by: Jimmy Legs at March 7, 2007 1:05 PM

Renters have no place on this site. You're not part of a community until and unless you own property in it. Everyone knows this. The opinions of renters and other transients matter very little.

Posted by: Anonymous at March 7, 2007 1:19 PM

don't feed the troll.

ok, the lincoln pl apartment looks a little overpriced to me, since it's nowhere near the 2,3,4,5 trains, as advertised. the 3 at nostrand ave, yes, but the franklin stop is a bit of a hike from there. and given the way most brownstones are laid out, i doubt it has 5 separate private bedrooms. but hey, it sure is pretty. some new-in-town, 4-roommate group with an eye for aethestics will probably take it.

Posted by: sylvia at March 7, 2007 1:36 PM

Agree with the comments about the Bushwick place -- it's at one of the very last streets in Bushwick, soo far Southeast...it is nice but yeah -- carpeted kitchen? The floors must be fuxxored, though I can't imagine linoleum could be worse than carpet. If they get it, I'd be thrilled -- I'm 5 short blocks south of Flushing on Central and was hoping to get $1000 for a small 2br.

Posted by: Jeremy at March 7, 2007 1:49 PM

jeremy, we must nearly be neighbors. I'm between central/wilson, maybe a block or so away?

Granted our neighborhood isn't purty, but it seems if your place is nice you'd be able to get more, being relatively convenient to the jeffy stop, also close to the jmz at myrtle, walkable to the few bars/restauranrts, and a stones throw from 'E.W'burg'.

Good luck.

yup, keep renting overpriced shitholes and drive the market up, up, up until you can't even afford to rent in East NY (the next up and coming neighborhood after the breeders eat up Bed Stuy after fleeing Fort Greene/AY. Suckers whether you rent or buy. See you in Philly.

AAA,

Sooo happy you have chosen not to breed.

Thanks!

Posted by: Anonymous at March 7, 2007 3:43 PM

AAA I think it's a great idea that you decided to leave us. Hopefully more like you are reading this and they also plan on "fleeing" to another state.

yeah, philly. now there's a town that's free of gentrification...

give me a break.

move already, and rent what's coming to you.

The Lincoln Place duplex is great. 4 or 5 people sharing would be quite affordable. I also think this feature has merit. I'd like to know what people are getting for their apartments, and also sometimes people ask if anything's available in my neighborhood. Information is good.

This is hilarious. I'm moving back to Brooklyn to get away from assholes like you that are ruining Philadelphia with your dreams of non-gentrified low rent neighborhoods. Good luck finding a job.
