Brunching in Bed-Stuy
Photo of Bushbaby counter from Bed-Stuy Gateway
Over on our message boards, a reader looking for a good take-the-parents-to-brunch spot sparked some recommendations that we're excited to try. One reader suggested Solomon's Porch (on Halsey and Stuyvesant), which reportedly offers good salmon croquettes and French toast; its prix fixe (around $13) comes with a mimosa or other beverage. Two others like Petit Bassam, which we discussed when it first opened; Cookers (Fulton and Lafayette) and Bushbaby (Fulton near Bedford) were also mentioned.
Any other suggestions? We're not sure if this Senegalese place, Yolele, is still open, but one Chowhounder thoroughly enjoyed a brunch of sweet potato-lamb hash and kefta there back in 2004.
