An Attempt to Slash Trash Tickets

We're definitely behind Council Member Simcha Felder's request for the Bloomberg administration to reduce first-time fines for property owners that have trash violations in front of their homes. He hopes to cut the fines to $50 from $100 for first-time offenders and he also wants to change the afternoon window when the city can ticket for trash violations. The current window is noon to 1pm, but he's hoping to make it 6pm to 7pm. It makes sense most homeowners are working during the day, not sitting home keeping an eye on flyers and other litter that accumulates in front of their buildings.
