Today Only: Free Eats at DUB Pies

The DUB Pie Floaters were the winners of the recent Australia Day Cricket Tournament, and now they've got another national holiday from Down Under to celebrate. Today is Waitangi Day, a celebration of the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi, New Zealand's founding document, on February 6, 1840. Since DUB's owner, Gareth Hughes, is a New Zealand native, he's offering two pies for the price of one to anyone who stops by the store today and casually mentions "Waitangi Day." And if you ask really nicely, you may also get a free flat white. (That's a coffee drink made with espresso and steamed milk, with only a thin layer of froth at the top.) It's sure to be a chilly walk over the BQE to their shop on 193 Columbia St (between Sackett & Degraw), but DUB's eating a couple of delicious and comforting meat and veggie pies is the perfect way to warm up.

They're a little spacey down at the shop, you might be waiting around a while, but the Dub pie is really good, on Waitaingi Day or any day really.
