The Future of 418-422 Classon?

wall
We got a bit of a scare when we read one of the comments on Atomische.com yesterday in reference to these three beautiful, albeit decrepit, buildings that the Pratt Area Community Council owns on Classon and Quincy that said, "I think you'll love the new building and the fact that it was saved, but it won't have the character that this does." Holy crap, we though, what new building? Thankfully, we don't think it looks like that's the case. Back in June, PACC filed for a DOB permit with the following description:

EST COST $480,000. FILING TO COMBINE 3 EXISTING 3-STRY & BAS ROW HOUSES T O CREATE NEW MULTIPLE DWELLING COMPLETEREHABILITATION FOR EXISTING BLDG.COMPLET E NEW MH,PL & SPR SYSTEMS.

Restoring this facade is going to be a serious project. Hopefully, it will be fun to watch. Anyone know when work will get underway? Anyone at PACC wanna reno blog it?

I thought it was for Sale?

It does still have a "for sale by owner" sign out front, but that seems pretty odd and contradicts the other info found online.

No, that sign's from the old owner who held out for many months to extort PACC, knowing that they really needed the third building.

Have you softened your stance on PACC. That's the third positve posting in two weeks. Keep up the good work :)

Any Archived photos from the Glory days of this building? I've never seen it in any other state then it's current! Would love to see it when it was something more than a Crack den!

Just calling 'em as we see 'em...We vehemently disagree with the decision to tear down the Washington Avenue house but are very happy to see any work that helps preserve the architectural heritage of the area.
