Yeah, the speed is a bummer. Believe us, we feel it much worse on the back end. Basically, we appear to be stretching the bounds of what Movable Type was built for. There are over 50,000 comments in our database, so every time you post or we delete a comment the software has to chew through all this stuff. We're starting to look at solutions: customzing Movable Type? Moving to Wordpress? Very open to ideas and input, or even referrals to programmers who could help.

If found you don't have to wait until the screen apparently loads "fully". You can move on after a few seconds and your message still gets posted.

TypeKey still doesn't work on the Forum--I get"The site you're trying to comment on has not signed up for this feature. Please inform the site owner" which, I guess, is what I'm doing now.

It's most important that it works on thye main site and I'm happy to have it back.

in my uninformed opinion, it sounds like it's more of a database capacity issue than a problem with MT, similar to the way a computer will slow way down when it's hard drive is full or it doesn't have enough ram. you might be able to work with your hosting company to increase the size of the db. try to make friends with a developer, too.

I just noticed that after signing in to TypeKey on the main site, I'm still signed in on the Forum.I just can't do the initial sign-in from the Forum--not too bad.

Hmm. I don't mind signing in, but I thought the general idea was to allow anonymous posting so that all the skeezy realtors, negligent developers and 13-year-olds with nothing better to do could post inflammatory comments and keep the discussions interesting...

Never mind, I just realized signing in is optional. Until someone starts trolling me, I guess I'll stick with not signing in, it's simpler.

Ok, last week I got an error message when I posted a comment, and my comment never showed up. This week I got the same error message, so I try again, and the damn thing posts twice. Can't win against the internets.

Excellent, Mr. B.!!!! I'm happy as a clam at high tide!! Congratulations. And I am sure that Crown Heights Proud will be happy too.
