402 Pacific Street Gut Job

402 Pacific
There's a big ole renovation underway at 402 Pacific Street in Boerum Hill. It appears, however, that things have been help up by a few Stop Work Orders. Something to do with structural shortcomings. Anyone on the block have the scoop?
Update: As a reader points out, we already discussed this building and its owner's less-than-neighborly ways back in June. Check the link.

I live on Atlantic and park my car (yeah, I'm crazy!) in front of that building all the time. I coveted that building long before the renovations started so I went out and sought the owner through his RE broker. The broker (initials: JM) was a real schmuck and refused to put me in contact with the owner until I threatened to find the owner myself and tell him that his broker was an idiot and not looking out for his client's best interest. Anyway, got a call from the owner who told me that he was turning the bulding into 4 condos. They've been working on it FOREVER! Frequent stop work orders and the scaffolding looks like it remains standing with the help of spit and scotch tape. They have added an extension on the back. Maybe someone has more to add.

I live behind this bldg. The east wall and the rear wall were rebuilt. There is no extension so far. The windows are consistent in size and location with the buildings nearby. Progress is slow, but when the workers show up, there are several and they work efficiently. IMHO, the quality of the job looks ok.

..oops...I mean the west wall on the vacant lot side.

#1: Who is "JM"?

I live on the same block as this building, but on Dean. I'd be interested in perhaps buying one of those condos! Can anyone tell me how to get in touch with Issa Moneer, the owner?

If "Want to buy in my nabe" really wants to buy into that building, call Jerry Minsky at Corcoran. He's probably the broker repping the owner. And, he's a real schmuck! (and: my hunch is that the reno will be shit)

If "Want to buy in my nabe" really wants to buy into that building - maybe by time you're ready to retire the job will be finished.
