Hope For Abandoned Beauties on Rogers

A couple of weeks ago, polychrome, who's become one of the more prolific chroniclers of the Brooklyn urban landscape on Flickr, posted this photo of two buildings on Rogers Avenue near Lefferts. After sitting abandoned (and condemned) for years, a plywood fence recently was erected, signalling, perhaps, that redemption is near. We're interested to know what the plans are for it.

AFAIK Rogers Ave. in PLG has always been a failed commercial strip located as it is between Flatbush and Nostrand Avenues which certainly have their problems, but are thriving compared to Rogers.
The PLG Arts group may eventually have a combination performance/gallery space on Rogers (assuming we can raise the needed $$) which might help with upgrading the stree t. I could see it someday being a stripof restaurants, galleries, antique shops, etc.(but then my crystal ball doesn't have a great track record).

Yes, it would be.
BTW, the relatively new deli at Rutland and Rogers isn't bad.
