20 Henry: The Eighth Time's a Charm

design
After the previous owner spent much time and money evicting the rent-stabilized tenants at 20 Henry Street by pulling the building out of the Mitchell-Lama program, the Praedium Group has finally succeeded in getting approval (after seven failed attempts) from the Landmarks Preservation Commission for a four-story condo building in the former candy factory's garden. The architects on the project are Pasanella + Klein Stolzman + Berg. “It’s an ironic circle, said Anita Karl, who lived in the building for 28 years before losing her rent-stabilized lease and moving to Crown Heights. “We were thrown out so [the developer] could renovate for richer people and now they are taking those people’s backyards to make more condos.” Like rain on your wedding day.

wow, I lived in BH for 4 years and never noticed a garden on Henry Street. Guess I did not make it past Middagh too often. I am sure it will be missed.

The heights is so small, surprised you didn't walk down that far.

There is a noise problem there due to the BQE and Bridge.

Anyone ever notice that?
