Development Watch: The Jackson Foundry

condos
There are about a dozen development projects going on in the three or four block stretch of Manhattan Avenue (and its sidestreets) north of Metropolitan. One of them is a renovation of an existing commercial loft building at 130 Jackson Street. Dubbed The Jackson Foundry, the Civil War-era building was originally a munitions foundry and later a printing factory and book depository. The conversion will result in 22 units, including three on the rear with mezzanine levels. We went by and think it looks very nice from the outside; the renderings of the interiors look decent as well. We weren't able to find anything about pricing online. Has anyone heard any chatter? How about timing?

I bet these will sell well. Most of the stuff nearby is new construction. These will stand out in comparison.

That's a pretty building from the outside. Great curb appeal.

A friend of a friend of mine already bought one of these units. The area is great. There are a good amount of restaurants/bars in the area and the northside is not too far.

its a good restoration, nice area and most units are reasonably priced. it has big wood columns, huge windows, high beamed ceilings and lots of exposed brick. I was to an open house.

Its got giant smokestacks in the back that become private fireplaces and one of the apartments has a vault! Coolest apartments I've seen.
