Grand Proportions on Grand Street

house
We can't recall how long it's been since the construction of this new residential building at 160 Grand got underway. Seems like ages though. We have to applaud the developers for spending some money on the windows. According to a banner on the front of the building, these apartments are going to be rentals. We do not know if they've rented any yet or what kind of prices they're asking. Has anyone seen the interiors? GMAP

We discussed these before a while back i think. I like them.

Like Berry Street lofts, these were developed as Condos, and the sponsor went bankrupt. That's why there's little or no activity for months. The building has sat dormant for a long time, and not sure if they even finished the interior. It didn't have windows until earlier this year. I wonder if the floors, walls, etc. have dried out, or if one's looking at years of warped floors and mildewy smells.

Not only has the (half-finished?) building taken forever to build, construction didn't start for months and months after the former parking lot was purchased. The carrying costs must be killing.

I live right in back of this monstrosity - it's been up for over 2 years with nobody in it, thank god. They should load it on a flatbed and ship it to LA where it belongs.
