Dutch Mustard One Step Closer to Condo-ization?
Ole sharp-eyed justiNYC gave us a heads-up that all the windows have been removed from the Old Dutch Mustard building on Metropolitan Avenue in Billyburg. Back in the Spring, Curbed reported that the building had been sold to Steiner Equities for $25 million or so as part of a multi-property deal. We assume they will be condos--anyone know for sure?

Or worse - this sits in the middle of a potentially large development site, which extends through to North 1st Street.
There are no permits or applications for demolition on file, but there is a note that asbestos removal was being done, which may be why the windows were removed (old caulk often contains asbestos - unfortuantely, the easiest solution is to remove the entire window unit).
