Development Watch: Scarano Gets Skin in Dumbo

Newcomer Dumbo NYC provides an update on the Scarano project on the corner of Adams and Water that we looked at earlier in the summer. (This photo is from the same angle we took ours back in June, so it makes for a nice side-by-side comparison.) Architecturally, it looks like pretty standard fare. Since then, the facade has gone up. The blog also notes that, according to Scarano’s website, the first floor will have commercial space and residential apartments above. No surprises there.

I cant believe that they are residential. Why would someone actually pay to live under the bridge when hobos have been doing it for free for decades. Imagine the grime, noise, smell...yuck

anonymous,
Don't degrad your families life style like that. Peoplr are still free to make choices in this country. Go back to the sticks where people still use the word Hobo. Here in New York its Bums.

You should know better than anyone about BUMS. I grew up on Staten Island just like you.

Mr. Scarano clearly can't be trusted to self-certify his spelling, either.

Say what you will about Scarano -- but by reclassifying the words as proper pronouns, Bums and Hobos still have a little dignity left.
And Anonymous 10:04 -- are you saying you're a Bum too?

Get outta my town. I was here first. If the rent wasn't so damn high I would be living there..and then who would you calling a bum.
